Family Information:

Enjoyment for people of all ages is the keynote of Bicton Park Botanical Gardens, and we do not wish to spoil your fun by imposing too many dos and don’ts. However, we ask you to observe the following for your own safety and others around you:

Our outdoor and indoor play areas offer lots of fun and excitement, but CHILDREN MUST BE SUPERVISED AT ALL TIMES by parents or guardians.

When using the indoor play area, you must be under the age of 12 to use the main play zone, and 5 or under when using the Toddler zone.

Shoes and buggies are not permitted within the Indoor Play Barn. Wheelchairs are permitted providing the wheels are wiped down before entry, to avoid debris being carried inside. Blue shoe coveralls are available for adults to wear within the Indoor Play Barn if required. Socks must be worn within the Indoor Play Barn.

Please be especially watchful near our Lakes, Ponds and Streams, and do not allow anyone to climb trees or slide down grassy banks. Ball games are not permitted within the formal gardens.

When near or around water, please be very cautious of the swans. They are wild birds and can sometimes act in a hostile manner when approached, so please KEEP AWAY FROM THE SWANS.

Skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, scooters, children’s dolls prams, ‘Heely’ shoes, tricycle buggies, drones and model boats
are strictly not permitted within the Gardens. We do offer our own pushchairs for your use which can be found at reception. Any of the above can be left at reception during your visit or if you prefer taken back to your car.

Please remember that Paths, Steps and Lawns can become slippery when wet or icy, especially when fallen leaves are present in autumn and winter. You may walk on any grassed area, but please take care when walking off the Paths.

Disabled access:

The gardens are wheelchair friendly, but please note that there are some steep slopes and steps throughout. The Easy Path in the Mediterranean Garden is recommended for access to the museum and lower garden levels.

We offer the use of free wheelchairs which can be found at entrance to Reception

Picnics:

Own food may not be consumed within any of the buildings at the Park (with the exception of milk and pureed food for babies).
There are picnic benches situated around the Park, together with a covered area outside the indoor Play Barn, and a chalet-style hut at Farmland, where you may eat your own food.

Barbeques are NOT permitted.

Dogs:

Dogs may be bought into the Park for a fee of £1.00 per animal (Including poop bags if required) Dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times and are not allowed in the children’s Play Areas. They are permitted in the restaurant but only in the ‘Dog Friendly’ Orangery. Dogs must not be left unattended at any time whilst in the Park, including, outside the children’s play areas.

Please avoid letting your dog drink the water in the park from the streams, lakes and ponds. This is due to the naturally occurring blue algae that are harmful to dogs if consumed. Bowls of fresh water can be found in the Garden Centre

Tesco Vouchers:

Tesco Vouchers can be used for the standard day admissions into the park.

They cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions, discounts or on our annual passes. (This includes family day tickets). Also we are not permitted to give change when more Tesco Vouchers are used than required.
